A <strong>Wammie-nominated<\/strong> artist, Marty has been recognized for his outstanding contributions to the Washington, D.C. jazz community.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>He is a former lead alto saxophonist with the <strong>U.S. Navy Commodores<\/strong> and a founding member of the <strong>Capitol Quartet<\/strong>. Over his career, he has held lead alto positions with the <strong>Tommy Dorsey Orchestra<\/strong>, <strong>Dorsey Brothers Orchestra<\/strong>, <strong>Bill Potts Big Band<\/strong>, and the <strong>Great American Music Ensemble<\/strong>, and has performed with the <strong>\u201cBlues Alley Big Band\u201d<\/strong>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Marty has also played with the <strong>National Symphony Orchestra<\/strong>, <strong>Richmond Symphony<\/strong>, and <strong>Baltimore Symphony Orchestra<\/strong>, sharing the stage with jazz greats including <strong>Dizzy Gillespie<\/strong>, <strong>Eddie Daniels<\/strong>, <strong>Stanley Turrentine<\/strong>, <strong>Joe Williams<\/strong>, <strong>Rosemary Clooney<\/strong>, <strong>Ray Charles<\/strong>, <strong>Nancy Wilson<\/strong>, and <strong>Maureen McGovern<\/strong>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>A sought-after <strong>Selmer jazz clinician<\/strong>, Marty conducts masterclasses nationwide and brings his deep passion for jazz to students at the Washington Conservatory of Music.
